There are alot of things we have in common with Maribeth & Stephen. We both have golden retrievers, our #1 love language is quality time, we binge watch Netflix, like the song “Slow Burn”, and we all love Jesus. I’m sure there’s more, but as we were pulling away I told Jared that I feel like some couples are truly meant to be our couples, and these two were one of them. Their wedding day didn’t go as planned, like a lot of couples during this time, but at the end of the night Maribeth said, “It was nothing I imaged, but everything I wanted.”
Instead of a resort, their wedding was in the front yard of a friend’s home in New Smyrna Beach, FL. They read each other private vows by the water, and Stephen played “Here Comes the Sun” on his guitar while his bride walked down the aisle. There were first dances and speeches by the pool, and a small group of friends and family joined around the table for a meal. It was all they needed & it was beautiful.
“In a way we’re like the leaves on the trees in the fall. We leave the safety and foundation of the trees deep roots to enter a life of uncertainty. We’re exposed to new forces in life and new challenges. It’s somewhat ironic that leaves are called leaves because together we’re leaving on a new journey. We have no idea where we might fall, but there is not one person on this earth that I would rather do it with, than you.” Stephen’s vows couldn’t have been more perfect as they ditched their big wedding plans for a small front yard elopement and packed their bags for Seattle. Thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day, it was so special you chose us and it was such an honor to be there.
